Starting Tomorrow, Messages on WhatsApp Can Never Be Forwarded
The news about the restriction on the number of messages that could be forwarded through WhatsApp was clarified after the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Rudiantara, along with WhatsApp Vice President Public Policy and Communications, Victoria Grand, at the Ministry of Communication and Information Office, Monday afternoon (01/21/2019).
Rudiantara supports the WhatsApp step to limit the number of messages that can be forwarded to only five in Indonesia.
Reporting from Suara.com, WhatsApp will start limiting the number of messages that can be forwarded in Indonesia to only five per message. The new rules will come into force tomorrow (1/22/2019).

“I appreciate it. I respect WhatsApp’s steps,” Rudiantara said after meeting WhatsApp global representatives at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Jakarta.
Rudiantara explained that WhatsApp is often used to spread hoaxes in Indonesia and the WhatsApp policy is considered to reduce the potential for viral hoaxes.
“Starting tomorrow the message that can be forwarded can only be five times. The mode for which the hoax content has been posted on Facebook, screenshots and take down. The screenshots are neutralized via WhatsApp. Now we are trying to reduce this viral,” Rudiantara added.
Not only that, Rudiantara also explained that WhatsApp had consulted with the Ministry of Communication and Information before applying the regulation in Indonesia.
